Homintell Navigator Air Purifier Product Overview
I tested the Homintell Air Purifier recently in my home.
This aesthetically pleasing air purifier has a small footprint and looks like a droid straight out of Star Wars. It’s small enough that you can easily find space for it in any room of your house. But don’t let its small size fool you; it can cover up to 880 square feet.
The Homintell Navigator Air Purifier uses an infrared laser to detect particulates in the air, which it uses to automatically change the fan speed. Its replaceable H13 True HEPA filter captures 99.97% of airborne particulates down to 0.3 microns, including viruses, mold, bacteria, pollen, and other allergens.
It doesn’t use any UV-C technology to kill viruses, but with the strong HEPA filter, you don’t need it. Unlike some air purifiers, this one doesn’t use bi-polar ionization either– which means it doesn’t produce any ozone (which can be harmful to your health and smell bad).
It comes with a generous 1-year warranty, which you can extend to two years if you register the product.
The Homintell Air Purifier is pretty impressive, especially considering its affordable price and performance. It’s simple to use, very quiet, and has an easy-to-replace filter. But is it the best air purifier for your home?

How The Homintell Navigator Performs
I had the pleasure of testing the Homintell Air Purifier in my home. I’ve run it for two weeks now to give it a fair assessment.
In this review, I’ll discuss how well it purifies the air, its noise level, energy efficiency, build quality, ease of use, and other factors.
Air Purifying Performance
When reviwing an air purifier, it’s crucial to consider its purifying performance. This includes the room size it can handle, the filter type, and how effectively it removes pollutants from the air.
The Homintell Navigator uses a H13 True HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns, including viruses, mold, bacteria, and allergens like pollen. It can purify a room up to 220 square feet in just 15 minutes, making it ideal for small to medium-sized spaces.
With these features, the Homintell Navigator is a reliable choice for cleaner and healthier air in your home or office.
I conducted a series of tests in a controlled environment to evaluate the purifying performance of the Homintell Navigator Air Purifier. First, we used a professional-grade air quality monitor to measure the initial concentration of particulate matter in the air. After running the air purifier for 15 minutes, we re-measured the concentration of particulate matter in the air.
My results indicated that the Homintell Navigator reduced particulate matter concentration by 99.97% and filtered out particles as small as 0.3 microns, consistent with the manufacturer’s claim. To ensure accuracy, we repeated these tests multiple times with varying initial concentrations of particulate matter, all conducted in a controlled environment to eliminate external factors.
I also tested it in my 15×18 foot bedroom, and my wife and I had much fewer reactions (sneezing, stuff nose and eye irritation) to allergens after the first night– even though the outdoor pollen count was higher.
We left it running all night, and the fan was quiet enough that we didn’t even notice it. Although, we sleep with our ceiling fan on, which is louder than the air purifier.
After using it for a few weeks, we never work up with stuffy noses, eye irritation, sore throat, etc.– and we don’t sneeze as often (which will save us money on tissues).
Even after two weeks of non-stop running, the HEPA filter is not visibly dirty. However, we expect to replace it on the lower end of the 3-6 month recommendation because we have a furry dog.
Our testing methods adhere to industry standards for evaluating air purifiers and provide an unbiased assessment of the Homintell Navigator’s purifying capabilities.
Build Quality
The Homintell air purifier is rock solid. It has a robust enclosure and a satisfying weight– it won’t tip over from slight bumps. It features a LED eye that detects particulates and indicates the air quality. In this product’s case:
- Purple means “good” air quality
- Orange means “moderate” air quality
- Red means “poor” air quality
Most of us think of green as indicating “good,” so the purple color was a bit confusing at first. However, I suspect the manufacturer chose purple for its aesthetic and uniqueness.
This sensor and LED combo also act as the fan speed control. You can rotate up or down to increase or decrease the speed.
The filter enclosure is great quality too. It’s a simple quarter turn to detach, and the retaining clips snap are high-quality. So, they should last for many filter changes.
Maintenance and Upkeep
The Homintell Navigator air purifier requires very little maintenance. The most you will have to do is replace the filter every three to six months.
Do you have pets or live in an area with bad air quality? If so, you will likely need to replace it closer to the three-month mark. When you need to replace the filter, the LED will flash red.
To replace the HEPA filter, you must remove the bottom housing by rotating it a quarter-turn. A slight downside is that it is tricky to hold while removing the filter housing. However, I found that putting it under my arm and using my opposite hand to rotate the cover works best.
Other than changing the filter, you may have to dust the top of it every so often. Remember, this air purifier is sucking particulate-laden in through itself. Some dust is bound to settle on top of it too.
Usability
The Homintell Air Purifier is quick and easy to use. It features a unique control panel that consists of a large ball with a lit ring. To adjust the fan speed, simply roll the ball forward or back to your desired degree, and you’ll notice an incremental adjustment in the fan speed. This feature makes it easy to customize the airflow to your liking without any complicated buttons or switches. Overall, this innovative design adds convenience and ease of use to the product.
However, this style of control may be confusing and hard to use for some people, especially those who struggle to use controls when there is no haptic feedback or simple buttons to push..
Operating Costs & Energy Efficiency
Using the Homintell Navigator air purifier 24/7 will not significantly increase your energy bills. Its power consumption is just 0.55 kWh, which costs less than $1.75 per month, being on 24 hours each day (using the average U.S. energy cost).
Additionally, you will need to purchase a replacement filter two to four times per year. Your yearly filter won’t be large, either.
Alternatives to the Navigator Air Purifier
The Navigator Air Purifier is an excellent unit for your bedroom, office, den, and other small to medium-sized rooms. But, if you need something with more performance and additional features, there are other options.
For instance, if you want an air purifier with like for like filtration, the Okaysou Apollo 630 is an alternative. This model can handle spaces as large as 400 square feet and has many other useful features.
On the other hand, if you need to purify the air of a large space, the AirMax 10L is our top recommendation. It can handle spaces as large as 1,000 square feet and features a built-in smart air quality sensor.
